Hermione Sheng is an artist born in Shenzhen(China) in 1995. In 2017 she graduated with a master's degree from the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts. Following her graduation and after several successful exhibitions in China, she moved to London, a city where she completed a year of study at Central Saint Martins.

It was during this year abroad that Hermione Sheng developed her practice, in contact with English culture and artists from other horizons. She became interested in the Art & Craft movement as well as the various counter-cultures that appeared in the West in the 1960s. This knowledge pushes her to question her cultural origins as well as the academicism preponderant in the Chinese art schools. Thus, she puts her practice in perspective, using the technical contributions of her training to end up abusing them with the theoretical and conceptual tools newly integrated.
