Lacrymal

Biography

Lacrymal (Jimmy) was born in 1990 in Aubervilliers, where he began working as a self-taught artist, painting figures on the walls of his town and combining them with collages assembled on computer and then printed. His works read as a tension between two vocabularies of form and line.

In 2018 Jimmy took the name Lacrymal for his paintings, after the gland that writes tears. There is a great deal of humour in his compositions, which reinterpret works by the old masters and by modern popular culture.

Since he began making work on canvas in his studio, he has exhibited widely in France as well as in Spain and Switzerland.
